Frequently Asked Questions

When can a patient travel after surgery?

If you have had major surgery, we recommend that you stay nearby in the Phoenix area for a few days and avoid flying for one week.

When can a patient have sex after surgery?

As long as you are comfortable, you can start having sex in about 2-4 weeks after surgery. We recommend waiting since sexual activity increases your heart rate and blood pressure, which could negatively impact healing.

Why is it important to have a consultation with your surgeon before a procedure?

Having surgery is a major decision. You want to make sure you have a good relationship with your surgeon, your questions are answered, and you dont have any health problems that could impact a potential procedure.

Why is it essential to have a surgeon willing to tell their patients the hard truths?

Surgeons want to be honest with their patients and make sure they have realistic results. If a patients desired outcome is not possible with a specific procedure, it is better to know that upfront. A certain procedure may also be too risky and having your surgeon tell you this limits the potential risks of that surgery.

Why is cheaper not always better when it comes to plastic surgery?

Cost is often an indicator of quality. A qualified and experienced surgeon will cost more money, but they can also ensure a safe procedure in a sterile, certified surgical center. Bargain doctors may be using unsafe treatments or be practicing in locations that are not reputable.

What if I am unsure about getting this procedure?

If you are unsure about a surgical procedure, wait until you feel good about your decision and know exactly what you want. Surgery is a life-changing decision and you want to make sure your new appearance is one you will be happy with.

How should I prepare for plastic surgery?

Before your plastic surgery procedure, you should be financially and emotionally stable with realistic expectations of what the procedure can do for you. It is also important to understand the benefits, how much time you will need for recovery, and what the risks might be.
