What is the Dermapen®?
The Medical Micro-needling by Dermapen® provides our Glendale area patients with an alternative to typical cosmetic laser treatments that is less-invasive and requires shorter healing periods. Dermapen uses 11 stainless steel micro-needles that work in a vertical, automated stamp-like action to penetrate the skin and to create micro-channels in the skin for better product penetration. When these micro-channels close and heal, new collagen is formed in the skin. The Dermapen affects the skin more efficiently and safely than rolling dermis stimulators. The Dermapen can be used to replace some laser or facial surgery procedures.
Benefits of the Dermapen
Whether you're looking for a minor or major change to your skin, Dr. Angelchik and his aesthetician Jana Dreebin can work with you to determine how to use the Dermapen for many of the improvements you desire. The Dermapen does not cause scarring or bleeding typical with some laser treatments and is relatively painless thanks to its design and the use of numbing cream. Because the Dermapen comes with individual sterilized needle packages, you can be certain that the needles are only used on you.
The Dermapen helps with the absorption of topical products used to rejuvenate your skin. It works on all skin types and pigments and, because of its vertical design, it can work through scar tissue as well. The depth can be adjusted by Dr. Angelchik and his team perform different treatments with the same device and also to protect sensitive areas like the eyes, nose, and lips.
