What is Juvederm?™
Juvederm™ is a dermal filler approved by the FDA for use in treating:
- Fine lines and other facial wrinkles
- Acne scars
- Nasolabial folds
- Dark circles underneath the eyes
- Lip augmentation
Juvederm™ is made of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance that helps hydrate and restore volume to your skin.
How does Juvederm™ work?
Juvederm™ works in two ways:
- It adds volume to the mid dermal layers of skin to smooth the appearance of fine lines and facial wrinkles
- As it works on the dermal tissue in your skin, it binds to water molecules to help maintain this added volume
Am I a candidate for Juvederm™?
Ideal candidates for Juvederm™ are in good overall health and have realistic expectations for the outcome of the procedure. The best way to find out if you are an ideal candidate for Juvederm™ is to schedule a consultation with Phoenix plastic surgeon Dr. Paul Angelchik.
What are the risks associated with Juvederm™?
Because Juvederm™ is made from hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in your skin, there are very few risks associated with the treatment. Side effects are rare and generally subside in a few days. They may include minor swelling and discomfort at the injection site, redness, itching, and discoloration.
How long will my Juvederm™ results last?
Juvederm™ is the longest lasting FDA-approved hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler available today. Your results can last as long as 9-12 months. To enjoy the benefits of Juvederm™ on a more long term basis, you will need to return to Dr. Angelchik’s office periodically for follow-up injections.
Is Juvederm™ painful?
Your Juvederm™ treatment will not be painful. At most, you may experience minor discomfort at the injection site which should gradually subside following your procedure. Please contact us today to schedule your initial Juvederm™ consultation. Dr. Paul Angelchik serves patients in Phoenix and Glendale, Arizona.
