During your initial consultation with Phoenix plastic surgeon Dr. Paul Angelchik, what you can expect during rhinoplasty recovery will be discussed in full.
Typical Rhinoplasty Recovery
Typically, full recovery from rhinoplasty takes up to eight weeks. However, some swelling may be present for up to one year if you have had open rhinoplasty. By and large, swelling should dissipate within six weeks.
Most patients are able to return to work or school within two weeks of their procedure. Bruising may last for up to three weeks, during which time sun exposure should be limited. Exercise can be resumed at two weeks, but sports in which contact with the nose is possible will need to be avoided until otherwise advised by Dr. Angelchik. Some discomfort may be present during the initial healing period. This is often treatable with over the counter medications.
Dr. Angelchik will work with you during your recovery to ensure your absolute comfort and safety.
