Microdermabrasion by Parisian Peel®

Rejuvenate and clear the skin using the best in combination technology

This procedure provides an effective, non-chemical, full-face exfoliation. Outer layers of dead skin cells are exfoliated using technology that disperses crystals with gentle vacuum suction, revealing smoother, younger skin. This treatment is also great for clearing pigment after receiving Fotofacial RF® treatments or as a pretreatment to a chemical peel.

What is Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is a professional-grade exfoliation procedure that can effectively remove dead skin cells and rejuvenate the skin without the use of chemical exfoliants. This can benefit many different types of skin and skin concerns, making it an excellent option for most patients. It can also be easily combined with other skincare procedures for additional rejuvenation, like chemical peels, high frequency treatments, oxygen facials, or laser treatments. On its own, microdermabrasion can be a great deep treatment before a big event or as a regular part of your skincare regimen.

Who is a Candidate for Parisian Peel Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is a preferred treatment for many patients because it doesn’t require chemical exfoliants, which can cause side effects on certain skin tones or types. Patients that benefit most from microdermabrasion are those with acne-prone, congested, or dry skin, and many patients achieve noticeable results after only one treatment. During your consultation with our skincare specialists, you’ll discuss your skincare goals to determine whether microdermabrasion is the right option for you, as well as a treatment plan that can achieve your intended results. You should be sure to mention any medications like retinoids that you’re using, as well as any active skin conditions, as these might be a cause to delay treatment.

How does the Matrix IR Fractional work?

This laser system works twofold to jumpstart your skin’s natural rejuvenating systems. This occurs by both increasing collagen production through radiofrequency, and through controlled wounding of the deep layers of the skin to produce additional collagen as part of your skin’s natural healing functions. This is accomplished through activating fibroblasts, which produce collagen. These wounds only occur on targeted parts of the skin, or a fractional amount, as the name indicates. The Matrix IR Fractional system comes with three pulse settings, meaning it can be easily customized to your goals and skin. When the Matrix IR Fractional system is used in addition to Fotofacial RF® and Refirme™ treatments, you can achieve significant skin rejuvenation that addresses a wide array of concerns.

How does the Parisian Peel Microdermabrasion work?

Your skin naturally undergoes a turnover process, where new cells replace old, damaged, and dead ones. However, these dead cells sometimes remain on the surface of the skin, causing it to look dull, dry, and congested. Often, it can enter the pores and create acne. For these reasons, exfoliation is a valuable technique to include in your regular skincare regimen. Microdermabrasion can often reach deeper into the skin and more effectively remove debris than at-home methods, and chemical exfoliants can sometimes be contraindicated for patients. This makes microdermabrasion an excellent option for achieving clear, healthy, and glowing skin.

What Happens During the Parisian Peel Microdermabrasion?

This treatment session can take up to thirty minutes and requires no downtime afterwards, so it can easily be completed on a lunch hour. It begins with a deep cleanse of your skin and application of a unique Parisian Peel® antioxidant gel. Then, the microdermabrasion handpiece is applied to the skin. This device simultaneously sends a stream of microcrystals onto the skin to gently abrade away dead cells while suctioning them into the vacuum. Most patients can easily tolerate this process, as it doesn’t require any anesthesia. There’s no downtime required, so you can return to your regular schedule immediately afterwards. However, you can expect some redness that usually subsides within the day.

How Can I Maintain My Results?

Microdermabrasion is most effective when performed in a series of treatments in order to maintain your results. This series of treatments can occur as often as once per week or more, and our skincare specialists can give you the best idea of how frequently you should opt for treatment to achieve your goals. However, many patients also benefit from additional skincare treatments like chemical peels or laser treatments to further rejuvenate their skin. During a consultation with our skincare specialists, you can discuss your goals and preferences and create the right treatment package for you. Additionally, we can recommend the best in our selection of medical-grade products to supplement your at-home care.
