Microneedling has become one of the foremost skincare trends over the last few years because of its ability to produce excellent results. The microneedling process can jumpstart your skin’s restorative functions and allow for effective product retention, meaning you can treat your concerns without downtime or invasive techniques.
This is everyone’s new favorite treatment! Fractional Micro-needling uses an 12 needles- disposable cartridge to pierce the skin in a controlled and precise pattern to induce product penetration and collagen production to tighten, rejuvenate, reduce acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles. This treatment is safe for all skin types, and has short treatment time, with little to no downtime and minimal discomfort when numbing cream is used prior to procedure. Series of 5 is recommended in 4-6 weeks intervals. This means microneedling is usually performed using serums with active ingredients that can benefit your skin more effectively when they can reach the deeper layers. When these micro-channels close and heal, new collagen is formed in the skin. The Dermapen affects the skin more efficiently and safely than rolling dermis stimulators.
The Dermapen helps with the absorption of topical products used to rejuvenate your skin. It works on all skin types and pigments and, because of its vertical design, it can work through scar tissue as well. The depth can be adjusted by Dr. Angelchik and his team perform customized treatments with the same device and also to protect sensitive areas like the eyes, nose, and lips. Most patients can benefit from microneedling treatments, but it’s important to consult with Dr. Angelchik about any active skin concerns like acne or lesions.

Microneedling can be performed at our Glendale office by our skincare specialists. The length of your treatment session can depend on the size of your treatment area and the extensiveness of your skin concerns. Most patients can tolerate the microneedling procedure, but we can provide a topical anesthetic if needed. Once you’re comfortable, the Dermapen is applied to your treatment areas to fully cover the area in microchannels that can better absorb your chosen serums. Most patients experience some redness afterwards but return home.
Whether you hope to treat specific concerns or simply maintain your great results, microneedling can be performed regularly and works best in a package of treatments. During your consultation, Dr. Angelchik can recommend the best course of treatment for you, but it’s best to allow at least a couple weeks between treatments to allow your skin to recover. Many patients benefit from additional skincare treatments like chemical peels for best results. Dr. Angelchik can also recommend laser treatments to better address your pigmentation or aging concerns.
The best way to begin achieving your skincare goals is through a consultation with our skincare specialists at our Glendale office. To schedule a consultation, call or fill out our online form.
